Do you dream of conquering snowy peaks, but you are still a beginner? Don't worry! An active winter vacation can be comfortable and enjoyable even for those who are new to skiing. Today we are going to tell you about picturesque locations for beginners.
Tatranska Lomnica, Slovakia
It is located at the foot of the Lomnický Štit mountain at an altitude of over 1000 meters above sea level. The season lasts from December to March.
The total length of the trails is 12 kilometers, 50% of which are for people without experience. There are 10 ski lifts and 2 ski areas: Skalnate Pleso (for experienced skiers) and Yami (for beginners).
You can also rent equipment here. And for the little ones, there is a school with qualified instructors.
We also recommend exploring the historical sights of the village and its surroundings. Visit the medieval Spiš Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For nature lovers, we recommend going on an excursion to the Belyanska cave. The dungeon is famous for its amazing stalactites and stalagmites.
Maidan, Ukraine
Located in the village of the same name in Zhovkva district, Lviv region. The resort is located on the territory of the Magic Lakes recreation complex.
The location has a ski lift and a 680-meter-long track.
Tourists can take skiing lessons, ride down the mountain on a tube, and enjoy winter fishing or a bath. You can also rent a variety of equipment: skis, helmets, masks, costumes, etc.
Be sure to visit the Timosha cave monastery. It is located 5 kilometers away. In the period from 1590 to 1612, the founders of the Krekhiv monastery, the Reverends Joel and Sylvester, lived here. According to legend, the monks built a church and a throne in the rock.
Interesting fact. The hetmans of the Zaporizhzhia army came here many times: Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Petro Doroshenko, and Ivan Mazepa.
Vogel, Slovenia
It is located on the territory of the Triglav National Park. It is also considered the highest ski resort in the country. It is located at an altitude of over 1800 meters above sea level.
There are 8 cable cars here. You can also ride on the longest piste - Žagarjev graben. The total length of the roads is 22 kilometers, 9.5 of which are light.
By the way, in order to preserve the unique ecosystem of the protected area, the resort has abandoned the use of snow cannons.

Poiana Brasov, Romania
Located in the eponymous area on Mount Postavaru. The season lasts from December to March. The valley is surrounded by relict forests.
There are 11 trails of varying difficulty levels (4 blue, 4 black, and 5 red) at an altitude of 1030 to 1775 meters above sea level. Nine lifts serve the freeride and bobsled areas, two ski jumps, and the Olympic road. Artificial lighting allows you to ski around the clock.
There is also a lot of entertainment here: an ice rink, an equestrian center, swimming pools, folklore performances, nightclubs, etc.
Beginners can also attend a ski school, which is aimed at adults and children.
We recommend a trip to Bran Castle. It is located 30 kilometers away. It was founded in 1212.
Interesting fact: in the XIX century, the building became popular thanks to the novel Dracula by Irish writer Bram Stoker.
Bukovytsia, Ukraine
Located in the city of Boryslav, Lviv region, not far from Truskavets and Skhidnytsia. There are 3 slopes of three difficulty levels: for children (250), easy (950), and medium (850).
Tourists will find everything for active recreation: two slopes for experienced skiers and snowboarders, separate, safe areas for practice and skiing, as well as snow tubing areas.
There is an on-site equipment rental and service center. Qualified instructors work here for those who want to learn how to conquer the peaks. By the way, travelers choose the time of the lesson on their own.
