Orchids are one of the favorite indoor flowers, but they can be difficult to care for at times.

Orchids need special conditions to bloom, so experts warn that the lack of flowering may be due to three common care mistakes, OBOZ.UA reports.

According to them, light, soil, and watering are three things that orchid owners should pay attention to if they want to see good flowering.

Poor lighting conditions

One of the most common reasons for an orchid not to bloom is insufficient lighting.

This is because many orchid species need bright but indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can burn the leaves, but low light levels prevent the growth of flowers.

A slightly shaded window is the ideal location, or you can invest in additional grow lights with a 12-hour light cycle for the right balance.

Improper watering

Over- or under-watering your orchid can cause them tremendous stress, meaning they will refuse to flower.

Orchids prefer to dry out between waterings, so check the soil regularly. If it is wet, refrain from watering as there is a risk of root rot.

Using the wrong soil
