Top 10 most fuel-efficient gas cars
Drivers looking to save money on their gasoline bills in 2025 should consider 10 models that boast exceptional fuel-efficiency without sacrificing driving pleasure.
According to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a global driving cycle standard for determining the levels of pollutants, CO2 emission standards and fuel consumption of conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid automobiles, as well as the all-electric range of plug-in electric vehicles, the most fuel-efficient new gas car is the Suzuki Swift 1.2 MHEV, OBOZ.UA writes.
In addition to its efficiency, the latest Swift is also an extremely interesting supermini to drive, showing the ability to overcome swift turns at high speeds, not to mention a generous list of standard equipment.
Another gasoline-powered model that is particularly fuel-efficient is the Peugeot 208, which was recently redesigned to include another 1.2-liter mild hybrid powertrain.
Drivers can choose from two fuel-efficient versions, with the 98-horsepower version showing 62.8 miles per gallon and the tuned 134-horsepower one, which still offers a very fair 61.4 miles per gallon.
New car buyers can get the exact same fuel-efficiency figures with the Vauxhall Corsa, which uses the same transmission and mechanics.
Finally, drivers looking for the perfect combination of retro Italian charm and low running costs should consider the latest version of the Fiat 500.
