This is not the Tiguan: Volkswagen has decided to abandon the Golf-based crossover

The T-Roc model line will be reduced

The Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet crossover based on the inexpensive Golf hatchback will be discontinued forever - the car will not receive a successor when the second generation of the model debuts. Interestingly, this is the only VW convertible in the current lineup.

It is reported by Motor1. The VW T-Roc Cabriolet crossover is in a very unusual segment of convertible crossovers. The model has no direct rivals, meaning that there is virtually no competition, but this did not help to achieve high sales.

The car made its debut in 2019 and, one might say, stayed on the market for quite a long time. The company hoped to offer customers an unusual model, but they preferred either classic convertibles or more practical and affordable fixed-roof crossovers.

In fact, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet replaced the VW Golf convertible. Probably, the management assumed that any car could be sold under the guise of popular crossovers. Its production will be stopped in 2027.

The new 2nd generation Volkswagen T-Roc will soon appear, and the cars are currently undergoing road tests before the premiere. The convertible will disappear from the lineup, and only the usual version with a five-door body will remain.
