Norway is a country that has almost completely switched to electric cars in the segment of new cars. Such cars dominate the market, with thrifty buyers favoring inexpensive models.

The details have become known to Carscoops. In August, sales of electric cars in Norway reached 94% - an absolute record that other states cannot match.

Overall, electric cars took up 87% of Norway's car market as of 2024. Norwegians have bought 68,435 electric cars.

The country wants to fully switch to EVs in 2025. Demand can be maintained thanks to special incentives. These include tax and duty reductions, discounts on parking and road tolls.
