Rating of the worst cars of all time

Modern car manufacturers are trying to create a more convenient and comfortable model every time. But there have been cases when cars did not meet the expectations of drivers at all, and companies try not to mention their inventions.

These cars looked terrible and had a lot of flaws. Engineerine has compiled a list of the worst cars of all time (to see the photos, scroll to the bottom of the article ).

20th place - AMC Pacer - 1978

This car was nicknamed "aquarium on wheels" by drivers. The rounded shape and large glass are an unusual design decision that unpleasantly surprised buyers. The AMC was discontinued after five years of production.

19th place - Trabant P50 - 1957

The Trabant P50 is a unique car because it was not equipped with brake lights and turn signals. The two-door car had a top speed of 100 km/h.

18th place - Aston Martin Cygnet - 2011

Aston Martin has developed an economical city car due to the new requirements of the European Union regarding the average level of emissions of harmful substances. After a little more than two years of the Cygnet's existence, the company stopped its production. The top speed is 170 km/h. The engine displacement is 1.3 liters.

17th place - Chevy Vega - 1971

The aluminum engine of this car consumed too much oil. The CEO of Chevrolet realized that it was not the best car because it broke down during a test run. The car became widely known for a number of problems related to its engineering, reliability, safety, rusting, and engine durability.

16th place - PT Cruiser Convertible - 2005

This 2-door convertible was equipped with a special "sport protection" that adds rigidity to the ride. Power - 115 horsepower, engine displacement - 1.6 liters. The convertible was officially discontinued on December 21, 2007.

15th place - Suzuki X90 - 1995

The two-seater car had an unattractive design. The X90 was produced for three years until the model was discontinued in 1997. Power - 96 horsepower, engine displacement - 1.6 liters.

14th place - Cadillac Cimarron - 1982

The car's interior was made of cheap fabrics and accessories. Power - 89 horsepower, engine displacement - 1.8 liters.

13th place - BMW Isetta - 1955

This three-wheeled city vehicle with a single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 12 horsepower is probably the most unsuccessful German car. The Isetta was a poor vehicle with one front door and no reverse gear. Passengers could not get out of the car when it was parked with its nose to another vehicle.

12th place - Saturn Ion - 2003

This four-door car had poor performance. Buyers complained about the gearbox shifting. The maximum speed was 175 km/h, the engine type was gasoline.

11th place - Ford Pinto - 1971

This car could have caught fire as a result of a low-speed collision for no reason. Ford has compensated customers for $50 million in damages.

10th place - Lincoln Continental Mark IV - 1972

This car did not have high dynamics, and its hood was compared to the deck of an aircraft carrier. The car was designed for customers who did not care about gasoline prices.

9th place - Reliant Robin - 1973

The car had only three wheels, two in the back and one in the front. This made it unstable while driving. Nevertheless, the car had many fans in its time.

8th place - Ford Mustang II - 1974

Mustang II was equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. The car was discontinued in 1978. Modern Mustang II fans often regard this car as a dark page in the company's history.

7th place - FSO Polonez - 1978

FSO Polonez is considered one of the most unreliable and visually unattractive cars. The car has five doors. The maximum speed is 155 km/h.

6th place - Citroen Pluriel - 2003

In addition to the fact that the roof has to be removed manually and takes a lot of time, it is difficult to put it back on. It's like putting together a construction set.

5th place - BMW X6 - 2009

A car that looks and drives like a sedan, but at the same time has a high driver's seat and the roughness of an SUV. The BMW X6 does not impress with its performance and design.

4th place - Lexus SC 430 - 2002

For a car with a "sporty" look, the Lexus produces only 300 horsepower. This is not enough to cope with the massive weight of the Lexus. With a price tag of $61,055 and a maintenance bill that is more than double that amount, people understandably expect something out of the ordinary from this car.

3rd place - Pontiac Aztek - 2001

The front end of the Aztek looks like General Motors designed an SUV and then decided to cut off the hood of a Pontiac Grand Prix and stick it on top.

2nd place - Yugo GV - 1985

The Yugo is a communist car made in Yugoslavia. After being released in the United States in 1985 for $3,990, the Yugo quickly became a classic example of the phrase "you get what you pay for."

1st place - Eagle Premier - 1989

The Eagle Premier offers nothing outstanding or unusual. The design lacks style, and the car itself is not admirable.
