Lesiuk will not run the relay

Taras Lesiuk, the 2027 World Summer Biathlon Champion, was not included in the Ukrainian national team in the relay race at the World Championships, which are currently taking place in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. The decision was made by the head coach of our national team, Juraj Sanitra.

This is reported by Suspilne Sport. The coach of the "blue and yellows" could not decide for a long time who would run in the men's relay in the third stage. As a result, the Slovakian specialist decided to refuse Lesiuk's services and let Denys Nasik run on the track.

Artem Pryma will start the relay as part of our team. Next, the team captain Dmytro Pidruchnyi will take part in the competition, and Anton Dudchenko will run the final leg. It is worth noting that this will be the first time that the Blue and Yellows will compete in this lineup.

On the women's side, the national team was predictable: Iryna Petrenko - Yuliia Dzhyma - Anastasiia Merkushyna - Kristina Dmitrenko.

Relay races at the Biathlon World Championships will take place on Saturday, February 17. The girls will take to the track at 14:45, and the men will start at 17:30 Kyiv time. The competition will be broadcast on the regional channels of Suspilne and Eurosport.
