The winners of the Emmy 2024 have been announced

The American Television Academy has announced the winners of the Emmy 2024 Awards, which took place on the night of September 15-16 in Los Angeles, USA. This year, the critics' favorite was the Shogun series about an English sailor in Japan. It received a record 18 statuettes.

According to Variety, the series broke the record for the number of wins in one season. As far as we know, Shogun also became the first movie to be nominated 25 times. It was closely followed by another acclaimed series, The Bear, which broke its own record with 11 wins.

Many lesser-known actors also won the Emmy 2024. Liza Colón-Zayas, 52, who played the role of Tina Marrero in "The Bear," admitted after receiving the statuette that she had not prepared a speech because she did not expect to win.

"Thank you to my husband David Zayas, he told me to write a speech and I didn't because I didn't think it would be possible. How could I have thought it would be possible in the presence of Meryl Streep and Carol Burnett, Janelle and Sheryl Lee Ralph. I love you all, I honor you to the depths of my heart. My mom, I thank you. My family, my grandchildren, thank you. Thank you for giving me a new life through this show," she said.
