The James Webb Telescope took an incredible photo of the star cluster NGC 602. According to researchers, it is located at a distance of 200 thousand light years from us.

On the NASA Webb page on the X network, experts noted that this is a young star cluster. It can be found in the Small Magellanic Cloud.

Scientists note that NGC 602 consists of many young stars, gas clouds, and dark dust clusters. By its characteristics, this cluster resembles regions of star formation from the early Universe.

Therefore, astronomers use NGC 602 as a kind of natural laboratory. During the study of the cluster, the James Webb Telescope even managed to detect a population of brown dwarfs, objects that occupy an intermediate position between stars and planets. Before that, they were found only in our galaxy.

"Meet NGC 602, a young star cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud where astronomers are using @NASAWebb. We've found candidates for the first brown dwarfs outside our galaxy," the post on X reads.
