The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has allocated $190 million for the program "Ensuring Energy Supply, Resilience, and Sustainable Operation of Ukraine's Power Grids". As part of the program, the organization will provide energy assistance to Ukraine over the next five years.

This was announced by USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman. According to her, the program is designed to support both Ukraine's power grid and centralized gas and heat supply.

"The United States' continued support for Ukraine reflects our commitment to helping the country secure its sovereignty, economic prosperity, and democratic institutions. Securing Power, Advancing Resilience and Connectivity will help keep the lights on in the homes of millions of Ukrainians, giving them the tools and inspiration to continue to defend their homeland," said Isobel Coleman.

"With last week's passage of the Supplemental National Security Act, the United States will also provide at least $1.4 billion in additional funding to support Ukraine's economic recovery," she added.

USAID has provided nearly $1 billion in energy assistance to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion began, including more than $475 million in emergency support over the past two winters to rebuild energy infrastructure.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the latest combined Russian attack on Ukraine was aimed at our energy system, in particular, generation and gas infrastructure. Although most of the enemy missiles and Shaheds were shot down, there were some hits. Therefore, experts are currently working to increase energy generation.
