The third season of Vikings: Valhalla": the series may be closed

On Thursday, July 11, the third season of the adventure series Vikings: Valhalla". Officially, it closes the story of Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksson, Harald III the Cruel, and William I the Conqueror, but fans are already wondering if a sequel is possible.

As OBOZ.UA reminds, Vikings: Valhalla" became a spinoff of the popular History TV show. It takes place about a hundred years after the original story, during the decline of the Viking Age. Heroic northerners fight for their future, trying to conquer England.

Netflix has already officially announced that the third season will be the last for Valhalla. This was confirmed by showrunner Jeb Stewart. "When we started this project 5 years ago, I worked diligently with this incredible cast and crew to create a journey that we all hoped would be satisfying... Of course, real historical figures always have more aspects of their lives to explore, but from a storytelling perspective, it made sense that our stories of Leif, Freydis, and Harald would end with a third season," he said.

In the third season, Freydis Eriksson looks after the recently liberated people of Jomsborg, while Leif Eriksson and Harald Sigurdsson travel to Constantinople for new adventures. The third season immediately received positive feedback from the audience. And some fans are already expressing their wish to see the continuation of their favorite show.

It is noteworthy that Stewart himself gave them such hope earlier. In a commentary for Digital Spy on the eve of the second season release, he said: "My story continues after the third season, and I would like to have more time to tell it all. I want to get to the point where William the Conqueror puts an end to the Viking Age." However, as of now, the series has the status of completed and we should not expect a new season in the near future.
