The Russian occupiers have begun to protect their oil refineries from drone strikes. The enemy is covering fuel tanks with nets known as "grills".

However, the attack on the Slavyansk-EKO refinery in Krasnodar Krai showed that such structures did not help the invaders. This was reported on Telegram by Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol.

According to him, the Russians began installing protective nets on fuel tanks in mid-March. At the same time, activists of the resistance movement were able to take photos and a description of the nets' design. Thanks to this, the drones still managed to hit the facilities.

In addition, in April, the occupiers installed mobile electronic warfare systems of the Groza-S type near the tanks. However, this also did not help the invaders avoid an attack on the refinery.

The Slaviansk-EKO refinery is located in the city of Slaviansk-on-Kuban in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. The company processes about 4 million tons of products per year.

Earlier it was reported that the explosions in the Krasnodar region of Russia on the night of April 27 were the result of an operation by the Security Service of Ukraine. Drones launched by special forces hit two oil refineries in the region – Ilya and Slavyansky.

As a reminder, powerful explosions occurred at the Kushchevskaya military airfield in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. As a result of the attack, the Russian occupiers suffered aircraft losses. Burnt modules for guided bombs were also found.
