Chinese taikonauts arrived on Earth after 6 months in space. Their return was accompanied by an enchanting celestial show.

The Shenzhou-18 spacecraft first undocked from the space station, Space.com reports. During its reentry, eyewitnesses filmed a real fire show in the sky, the video of which was posted on the page "Space Flight of China and Asia" on the X network.

The video shows a bright speck in front of the crew capsule, inside of which there were three taikonauts – Ye Guangfu, Li Qiong, and Li Guangxu – who have been living aboard the Chinese space station Tiangong since April 25, 2024.

A whole tail of bright "comets" stretches behind the capsule. According to experts, this is an instrumentation compartment that burns up in the atmosphere.

After such a spectacular performance, Shenzhou-18 landed at the Dongfeng landing site in northern China. According to the China Manned Space Agency, all three taikonauts were in good health upon arrival.

During their stay aboard the Tiangong station, Chinese taikonauts conducted a number of scientific experiments, experts say. They made a national record spacewalk outside the space station in May, and in June went to another to install protective shielding against space debris.

Crew chief Ye Guangfu also recently became China's first taikonaut to complete a total of 365 days in space, having previously participated in the Shenzhou 13 mission in 2021-2022.
