The titled athlete shared an unpleasant story from her life

Famous Ukrainian biathlete Olena Bilosiuk (née Pidgrushna) recalled a case 10 years ago when Russian propaganda called her a sniper working in the anti-terrorist operation zone in Donetsk region. In 2014, Konstantin Dolgov, one of the leaders of the People's Front of Novorossiya, accused the Sochi Olympic champion of "shooting rebels and civilians" in southeastern Ukraine.

In addition, a photo of Pidgrushnaya in a military uniform and with a weapon began to circulate on the Internet.

Olena admitted that at first she found it funny to read this. However, the fun ended when social media posts began calling for "killing this animal."

"And literally the next day, the address of my official place of registration appeared - of course, I didn't live there at the time because I was in Kyiv. I asked my mom: "Warn my grandparents that this is the situation. Let them be careful, they won't open the door to anyone." And I also walked around for a month, probably with a guard. I was just scared," Bilosiuk said on the EpicentrK YouTube channel.

In March 2023, Bilosiuk admitted that she had been trying to end her career as a professional athlete for the past five years, but she hadn't been able to do so. Either the coronavirus pandemic or Russia's full-scale invasion changed her plans.
