There will be no food courts on Sofiivska Square this year

This year, the Christmas tree in Kyiv's Sofiivska Square will be funded by patrons. However, there will be no food court, which was open during the holidays before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The director of Folk Ukraine, Ihor Dobrutskii, reported this, according to Evening Kyiv. It is not yet known whether the Christmas tree will be artificial or real.

"Like last year, there will be no food courts at the location, and the Christmas tree, its decorations, toys, and a generator for lighting will be provided by patrons. Not a single penny will be spent from the state and city budgets," said Dobrutskii.

According to him, the details of the festive location's decorations are still being kept secret and are to be presented personally by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko.

As a reminder, the Christmas tree will be set up in Sofiivska Square in Kyiv. Specialists will begin the work on December 1 to be in time for St. Nicholas Day.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on September 1, the calendar reform of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine came into force in Ukraine, according to which believers will celebrate important church dates earlier. At the same time, the dates of some public holidays will change.
