Apple plans to present a new mid-range smartphone iPhone SE in the spring. Both analysts and insiders familiar with its characteristics have already named the device as one of the best options for purchasing in 2025.

According to Forbes, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies plays a crucial role in improving the gadget. Such technologies will be key in the development of mobile operating systems this year. However, Apple is not currently in a leading position in this area and it may take most of this year and even 2026 to reach parity with competitors. Both iOS and Android will integrate many AI tools such as ChatGPT into their systems.

Although Apple was somewhat late to the generative AI game, it continues to innovate with other technologies that change the iPhone experience. For example, the Axx chipset will have a built-in Neural Engine that allows processing speech on the device, recognizing images, and processing data using machine learning.

At the same time, the iPhone SE will be powerful enough to work with Apple Intelligence functionality. The latter requires a lot of resources, and the new smartphone requires flagship characteristics. Apple is working to separate iPhone and iPhone Pro by equipping the former with an older processor. However, the AI revolution has led Apple to introduce the A18 chipset for the iPhone 16 Pro and the regular iPhone 16. In addition, the smaller storage capacity on regular iPhones was also increased to meet the requirements of Apple Intelligence.

Most likely, the iPhone SE will also be released with the Apple Intelligence package. Although it will probably be presented in a limited form. In any case, it is expected that the characteristics of the new iPhone SE will be higher than usually expected from Apple in this price category.

By the way, about the price. It will be the lowest among all the company's smartphones on the market. At the same time, the device should be close enough in performance to the regular iPhone lineup that many consumers will not notice the difference.
