The Audi RS3 compact hatchback, which is currently undergoing a redesign, has been presented in an updated design. The German automaker has shown what changes have been made to the five-cylinder sports car.

As Motor1 magazine writes, the model received a redesigned grille, "smarter" matrix LED headlights with the ability to select a scheme for daytime running lights. The new look of the RS3, according to the manufacturer, is reminiscent of the 1987 Quattro S1 Pikes Peak, although not all fans of the brand agree.

The diamond-shaped pattern seen on the single-frame grille is repeated on the updated air intakes with vertical black blades. For a more aggressive look, three holes have been placed above the front splitter. This creates the illusion of a wider car. The taillights have new graphics, and the bumper now has two side vertical reflectors, as well as a third reflector that divides the diffuser in half.

The range of colors for the Audi RS3 body has also been updated. The already familiar Green and Kemora Grey have been joined by metallic Ascari Blue and Progressive Red. For the first time, Audi offers the RS3 in Daytona Gray with a matte finish. The grille and diffuser mentioned earlier are always made in black. They can have a glossy shine or come in a more subdued matte finish.

The standard 19-inch wheels of the car also have a matte black finish and can be replaced with optional alloy wheels, the same as on the European version of the RS3 Performance Edition. They can also be matte dark gray or glossy black metallic with a two-tone design.

More obvious changes have taken place inside. The RS3 received optional carbon fiber front bucket seats in the style of the BMW M2. They combine Nappa leather for the side pillars with microfiber for the center and matte carbon rear. Conventional sports seats covered in Nappa leather.

Another noticeable change is the steering wheel. The updated design has flat upper and lower sections. The steering wheel has a red marker at 12 o'clock and shortcut buttons for some driving modes. Audi also gave the gear lever a flatter design along with some red accents for the air vents.

The new RS3 retains all five cylinders of the engine, but gains no additional power. In European specification, the 2.5 TFSI continues to deliver 395 horsepower. The Performance Edition, which was available before the restyling, corresponded to the 401-horsepower RS3 that Audi sells in the United States.

However, the Audi RS3's adaptive shock absorbers have now been made more responsive. In addition, the brand's engineers have also further improved the vectoring of braking torque to enable higher cornering speeds. The model has become more compliant even during extreme driving.

Orders for the updated Audi RS3 will be accepted at the end of August. The price of the RS3 Sportback starts at €66,000. If you are interested in the RS3 Sedan, Audi will ask for €68,000.
