A cyclist in Kyiv then and now
Cycling is nowadays a favorite option for active recreation for Kyiv residents. The fact that two-wheeled transport was popular in the early 1910s can be seen in the photo of the capital's first cyclist.
The archival photo was published in the community "Thirst: It's interesting in Kyiv" on Facebook. Unfortunately, the name of the Kyiv woman is unknown.

It is worth adding that the community reacted positively to the photo, noting the "comfort" of the clothes in which the Kyiv woman went for a walk.

As a reminder, the village of Darnytsia Carriage Repair Plant, better known as DVRZ, was founded in Kyiv in 1934. At that time, these were two- or three-story buildings that looked almost like palaces due to their stucco moldings and appearance.
The capital's Rusanivka residential area is surrounded by an artificial canal, which gave this area the popular name of "Kyiv Venice." In the 1980s, a series of photographs were taken here that captured the beauty of this location.
