The most dangerous driving maneuvers are named

Overtaking and left turn across the oncoming lane share are most dangerous maneuvers on a road

The first thing any driving school teaches you is to perceive the road as a source of increased danger. After all, without observance of traffic rules and mutual respect, traffic can indeed turn into a death trap for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.

However, some maneuvers are more dangerous than others. OBOZREVATEL talks about them and the threats they pose.

Overtaking

When overtaking a vehicle moving ahead in the same lane, the driver reaches high speed and sometimes drives out to meet it. Both significantly increase the risk of an accident. Therefore, you should overtake only if you are absolutely sure that it will be safe. It's better to suffer a little bit of slow traffic than to collide with another car at high speed.

Turning left

Some estimates suggest that this maneuver is the cause of the largest number of fatal accidents in the world. Thus, in right-hand traffic, making a left turn requires the driver to cross the oncoming traffic lane. This in itself is a very dangerous situation, so the driver needs to make such a turn very carefully, having assessed the situation on the road in detail. This is not easy, in particular because the driver can only look at the oncoming traffic and may not notice, for example, a pedestrian or an obstacle on the way.

Also, staring at the oncoming traffic for a long time may cause an optical illusion. The driver becomes so accustomed to this image that it may seem to them that the traffic is moving slower than it actually is. And this significantly increases the risk of a mistake.
