The car market in 2025 promises to be rich and innovative. Many automakers are preparing to launch new models that will combine the latest technology, improved design, updated infotainment systems, and increased safety.

Experts say that the process of switching to electric vehicles is gaining momentum. New models of electric cars with longer range and high-speed charging are expected to be released. Automakers are experimenting with new shapes, materials, and technologies to create more futuristic and attractive designs. Consumer Reports has revealed the most anticipated novelties of 2025.

Acura ADX

  • Estimated price: $35,000-$45,000.
  • When it will go on sale: spring 2025.

Acura is introducing a new entry-level luxury SUV based on the same global platform as the Honda HR-V. But unlike the noisy 2-liter four-cylinder engine of the subcompact HR-V, the ADX will use a more powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is also available in the Integra sedan. The ADX will be offered in three trim levels, all of which will be available with front or all-wheel drive.

Audi A6 E-Tron

  • Price: $82,000-$108,000.
  • When it will go on sale: spring/summer 2025.

The Audi A6 E-Tron is a mid-size four-door electric car similar in style to the automaker's A5 and A7 Sportback models. It will be offered with three different powertrains. The base version uses a 362 hp electric motor that drives the rear wheels, while the all-wheel drive E-Tron Quattro has two 422 hp electric motors. The high-performance AWD version of the S6 will produce 496 or 543 hp with a launch system. All models have a 100 kWh battery.

Audi Q5

  • Price: $50,000-$78,000.
  • On sale: from mid to late 2025.

Audi has updated its luxury compact SUV Q5. Two powertrains will be offered: a standard 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 268 hp in most versions or a 3-liter turbo V6 with 362 hp in the SQ5 configuration. Both are mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and come with all-wheel drive as standard. While all key safety systems come as standard, the optional Adaptive Driving Assistant plus utilizes various advanced driver assistance systems along with high-resolution mapping data.

BMW X3

  • Price: $49,500-$64,100.
  • On sale: late 2024-early 2025.

The fourth-generation X3 is slightly longer and has more power and a high-tech minimalist interior design. It is available in two configurations: 30 xDrive with a 2-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 255 hp and M50 xDrive with a 3-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with 393 hp. Each is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, supplemented by a 48-volt mild hybrid system, and uses all-wheel drive.

Buick Enclave Sport Touring

  • Price: $45,000-$58,000.
  • Already on sale.

This three-row SUV has made notable advances in technology with a massive 30-inch screen on the dashboard, a standard Bose audio system, and a robust suite of safety features. The Enclave ditches the 3.6-liter V6 in favor of a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is again offered with front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The top Avenir trim is equipped with an adaptive suspension.

Cadillac Escalade IQ

  • Price: $127,700-$175,000
  • On sale: end of 2024.

The Escalade IQ reimagines the Escalade, a model that has long been positioned as a striking full-size SUV. The EV powertrain uses two 750 hp engines and a large 200 kWh lithium-ion battery. The seven-seater SUV can be equipped with an optional Executive Second-Row package that improves passenger comfort.

Cadillac Vistiq

  • Price: $78,790-$120,000.
  • When will it be on sale: summer 2025

The Vistiq comes standard with a two-motor electric powertrain, albeit with less power, a shorter range of 482 km, and a significantly lower price. Stylistically, it has a fairly conventional appearance of a Cadillac SUV, decorated with an artificial grille. The Cadillac Vistiq comes standard with Super Cruise, an impressive driver assistance technology that adds hands-free driving capabilities to the adaptive cruise control system. The second- and third-row seats can be folded down to increase cargo space.

Dodge Charger Daytona

  • Price: $40,000-70,000.
  • On sale: end of 2024 for the electric version, mid-2025 for the traditional version.

The next generation Charger is offered in both coupe and sedan configurations, with a choice of electric or gas powertrains. The electric car is known as the Charger Daytona, and initially it was equipped with an R/T with 496 hp and a range of 510 km, as well as a Scat Pack with 670 hp and a range of 418 km. Next up is the high-performance Banshee. An inline six-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine with 420 or 550 hp will be available. Each engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Ford Expedition Platinum

  • Price: $60,000-$85,000.
  • On sale: end of 2024.

Drivers will recognize the spacious interior and square proportions, but will notice a slightly smoother look and more technical features inside. The instrument cluster is a 24-inch digital display located between the bottom of the windshield and the top of the large center screen of the infotainment system. The new Tremor trim adds larger tires, a taller stance, skid plates, and a host of electronic systems for off-road driving.

GMC Terrain Elevation

  • Price: $30,000-$40,000.
  • On sale: end of 2024.

The GMC Terrain SUV, redesigned for 2025, is similar in size and mechanical details to its predecessor, the Chevrolet Equinox. It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 hp, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard on all versions of the Terrain at launch, although a front-wheel drive version may be available in the 2026 model year. Terrain will be offered in three trim levels: Elevation, AT4, and Denali, each with its own styling elements.
