"The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim": when will the animated movie be released? The first trailer

A new animated film based on J.R.R. Tolkien's cult novel The Lord of the Rings will soon be released. The developers are New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. The prequel will tell about the events that took place 183 years before the plot of the 2002 film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers".

The animated film will tell the story of the House of Helm the Hammer, the legendary King of Rogan. The first trailer of the long-awaited novelty has already appeared online.

Back in June 2021, during the 20th anniversary celebration of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001), representatives of New Line Cinema announced that they have begun developing a new animated film with Warner Bros. Pictures they have started developing a new animated film. The story of Helm the Hammer is told in the appendices to J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings.

The legendary King Rohan is unexpectedly attacked by Wulf, the ruthless ruler of Dunland, who seeks to avenge his father's death. Wulf forces Helm and his men to fight a final battle in the fortress of Hornburg, which will later become known as Helm's Deep. Helm's daughter, Hera, will lead the resistance against the dangerous enemy.

The film was directed by Japanese animator Kenji Kamiyama.

In the original version, the main characters were voiced by Brian Cox, Gaya Weiss, Luke Pasqualino, Miranda Otto, Lorraine Ashbourne, and others.

According to the press service of the film distributor, the premiere in Ukraine is scheduled for December 12, 2024.
