The long-awaited inexpensive Honda model shown in new photos

The long-awaited Honda Prelude for the 2026 model year is being prepared for its premiere as a car in the low-cost sports coupe segment. It will compete with Nissan and Toyota. This car was shown in new photos before its debut.

As OBOZ.UA has already reported, the elegant Japanese sports coupe will be very similar to the concept that heralded the appearance of the production model. Already in 2025, the Honda Prelude model should go into production almost unchanged.

From a technical point of view, the model will use familiar solutions, focusing only on the best components. Thus, the front suspension will include parts of the Civic Type R sports hatchback. The coupe will also receive a fuel-efficient powertrain from the Honda Accord and Civic hybrid models with a capacity of more than 200 hp.

Strict environmental regulations require some electrification. Therefore, the hybrid powertrain is not a big surprise.

Interestingly, the manufacturer will develop an imitation of an automatic transmission based on the variator familiar in hybrid systems. The electric motor will help create the illusion of gear shifting for vivid sensations while driving.
