Journalists showed a video of the family of the State Duma deputy of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Sergei Mironov, baptizing a girl who was stolen from an orphanage in Kherson during the occupation of the city. Mironov and his wife Inna Varlamova committed a war crime by adopting Marharyta Prokopenko and completely changing her identity.

Ukrainian journalist Andrii Tsypliienko found out the details. His investigation, conducted with the help of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine, was broadcast on TSN.

Now the girl's name is Marina Mironova. The criminals made her a new birth certificate, which says that Margarita was born not in Kherson, but in the city of Podolsk, Moscow region of Russia.

According to the investigation, Marharyta was born in October 2021, a few months before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. She spent the first months of her life in the Kherson Regional Baby Home. During the occupation of Kherson by Russian troops, Varlamova came there at least twice to steal Ukrainian children. Together with Marharyta, 2-year-old Illia Vashchenko was taken away. In this, Mironov's wife was assisted by Tetiana Zavalska, who was appointed by the Russians as the head doctor of the institution.

In the summer of 2022, the Russians took Marharyta and Illia and took them to Moscow to a children's clinical hospital, and later to Varlamova's apartment. A month later, she officially married Mironov.

A week later, however, the couple lost one of their children. It turned out that Ilia had health problems. In her correspondence with her relative, Varlamova complained that she had been "handed a substandard child". The criminal got rid of the child on October 17, 2022. It is unknown where he is now.

As Ukrainian law enforcement officers found out, Marharyta has official guardians in Ukraine. This is the family that is raising her sister Ania. They are ready to adopt the girl and are waiting for her.

"Sergei Mironov, leader of the Just Russia faction in the State Duma, cannot but know that he has committed a war crime with signs of genocide since the transfer of children from one ethnic group to another is one of the signs of genocide under the international convention," the article says.
