The first Ukrainian gymnasium was opened in Bonn: it is paid and will be open only on weekends
The first Ukrainian gymnasium has been opened in the German city of Bonn. The first two years will be a transition period, so for now the school will be open only on weekends.
Tuition fees will be €50 per month. Almost 40 Ukrainian and German teachers will teach students of all grades. This was reported by the Amal Frankfurt website.
Discounts are provided for students whose families receive social assistance. The modern interactive classrooms are located in a four-story building.
As a reminder, the German education system has received a huge number of Ukrainian schoolchildren due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. To make it easier for children to adapt to foreign educational institutions, adaptation "brückenclasses" were created for them. These groups consist of only Ukrainians, and teenagers study German, math, English, art, labor, cooking, and sports.
Students who could not "pull" regular or integration education in gymnasiums went to "bruckenclasses." However, in 2024, they are to close completely, as children are gradually transferred to regular German schools. However, the number of students returning to adaptive classes is increasing. Ukrainian schoolchildren do not speak the language of this country at a sufficient level, which causes difficulties in learning.
