The Italian Atalanta created a sensation in the Europa League final by beating Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin. The team from Bergamo was stronger, defeating the opponent 3-0, with all three goals scored by Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman.

The German team was considered an obvious favorite. Bets on their victory in regular time were accepted with odds of 1.80. The success of the Italians was estimated at 4.20.

However, it was the players from Bergamo who dictated the conditions on the field. They chose the tactics of incredibly intense football, which Bayer simply could not cope with.
