The sculptures on Poshtova Square in Kyiv dedicated to the little founders of the Ukrainian capital – Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv, and their sister Lybid – were dressed up for Independence Day. The kids were dressed in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and military uniforms.
The sculptures were also decorated with traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts. The author of the monument, Volodymyr Zhuravel, said this on Facebook.
He noted that dressing up the children of Kyiv's founders for the holidays has already become a tradition. He also expressed gratitude to all the soldiers who are defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.
"Friends, happy Independence Day of Ukraine! Traditionally, we dressed the kids for the holiday! We thank everyone who protects and helps Ukraine! Everyone who brings the victory of good over evil closer! Everyone who brings light! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes," Zhuravel wrote.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated citizens on Ukraine's Independence Day. He emphasized that our country is a God-given land that cannot be given away to anyone.
