The cheapest Tesla has been declassified: 3 problems and one advantage
The new Tesla Cybercab turned out to be the company's cheapest model. Many people were looking forward to this electric car, even if the taxi did not meet expectations. So, it's time to discuss the advantages and problems of the car.
OBOZ.UA highlighted the main information announced at the Tesla Cybercab presentation. It was not a difficult job, given that the exact characteristics were not mentioned. But the price of Tesla Cybercab was announced – up to $30,000.
Interestingly, the first problem stems from this single advantage. The low price may seem attractive, but Elon Musk likes to use loud numbers during his presentations, which Tesla fans stretch with quotes on X (formerly Twitter).
In 2019, Musk promised a price of up to $40,000 for the Cybertruck pickup truck during a presentation. Today, the company sells the production model at a minimum price of $100,000.
The Tesla Cybertruck is the herald of the second problem for the Tesla Cybercab taxi. Four years passed between the announcement and the start of production. Against this background, the promise to open a taxi assembly line in 2026 does not seem realistic.
Another important problem is the autopilot. The manufacturer still hasn't released a ready-made system with complete software, hiding behind reports of years of beta testing. This, however, did not prevent the system from being sold as an option for $10,000. Buyers are still waiting for the release, continuing to participate in "beta testing". It doesn't even make sense to say that Tesla's autopilot still works poorly. At the same time, Cybercab cannot interfere with its operation due to the lack of physical controls.
Finally, it is worth noting the idea of the car itself. This cannot be called a big drawback, but this car is the answer to a question that no one has asked. The two-seater interior is not very practical, so this electric car is not suitable for private buyers.
