It is this city that is considered the cheapest for vacation among 173 others analyzed by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Metro writes. Accommodation here costs about $29 per night, meals in restaurants - $13 per person, and beer - $3.

The Portuguese capital on the Atlantic coast is known for its landscapes and beaches. The city's hilly landscape, colorful buildings, and lively folk music make it a unique and popular destination. Lisbon is located in the mountains, so you should also think about comfortable and lightweight shoes before traveling.

Metro advises you to start your trip by taking a tuk-tuk tour as they will take you to the best viewpoints in Lisbon. You can experience the vibrant nightlife on the famous Pink Street in the Cais do Sodre neighborhood. This place is famous for its bars and clubs. Moreover, it is located next to the train station.

Among the iconic sights, you can also visit the Belém Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery, which is definitely not avoided by tourists: the temple attracts with its beauty.

Park-bar is a hidden gem of the city. If you go up the stairs, you can get to the rooftop bar, which offers a stunning panorama of Lisbon. The tour does not end there. You can go to the TimeOut food market, which offers a huge selection of inexpensive dishes. It can be reached by historic Lisbon trams, which will convey the atmosphere of the city.

For beach lovers, Lisbon offers a wide variety of beach options, all of which are accessible to the general public. The Lisbon Riviera, for example, is a majestic stretch of beaches, perhaps not as popular as the Algarve, but some of the best in Europe.

The Church of St. Dominic is one of the most beautiful national monuments in Lisbon. For many centuries, royal baptisms, weddings, and coronations have taken place here. Although little remains of the original 13th-century building, the atmosphere of its majesty is still present.

Avenida da Liberdade is often compared to the Champs Elysees. Some of the city's most sophisticated designer shops, theaters, and restaurants to visit are along the alley.

The shopping area is an impressive spot overlooking Lake Tahoe, where merchants once gathered. Today it is one of the city's main attractions.
