World number one Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the French Open tennis tournament. The 37-year-old Belgrade native ended his performances at Roland Garros due to a leg injury, the tournament's press service reports.
The reigning champion suffered a torn medial meniscus in his five-set match in the 1/8 finals against Argentine Francisco Serundolo (6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3).

Djokovic was scheduled to play a quarterfinal match with Casper Ruud on June 5. Now, the Norwegian has reached the semifinals on a waiver.
