Test your IQ: a puzzle for kids even adults may not handle

Can you tell what number should be here instead of the question mark?. Source: Reddit

We usually think of children's puzzles as simple and intended only to introduce them to basic logical and mathematical thinking. However, some puzzles designed for children can easily confuse adults as well.

The Mirror journalists found such a puzzle on Reddit. It was shared by a user who was shocked that this problem was assigned to children in the 4th grade.

The task looks like a picture with four black triangles. Each triangle has a number on each vertice. Three of the triangles have a number inside them, and the fourth triangle has a question mark in the same place. The task of a fourth-grade student is to guess what number should be in the place of this question mark.

It took some time for users to figure out how to solve this problem. Some called it "black magic," while some assumed that it teaches children the basics of cryptography, as it seemed so difficult to Reddit users. That is why the search for a solution to this problem has no time limit.

Look at the picture carefully. Think about what the numbers on the vertices and inside the triangles might mean and what patterns can be identified. And finally, answer the question: what number should be here instead of the question mark?

Are you ready to test yourself? Or maybe you can't find the right answer? In this case, look at the hint below.

So, here's how to find the answer to this puzzle. The number inside each triangle is the sum of the numbers on the vertices. Not the same figure, but the one to the left. If you add the numbers 3, 2, and 5 from the vertices of the triangle on the left edge, you get 10 - and this number is inside the figure to its right. This figure, in turn, has the numbers 1, 2, and 6 at its vertices, the sum of which is 9 - the number of the third triangle. So, to find the number hidden behind the question mark in the fourth figure, we need to add the numbers from the vertices of the third figure. We add 6, 4, and 3 and get 13. This is the correct answer to the puzzle.
