Tesla Model Y is the most affordable crossover of the American manufacturer. Coupled with the Tesla Model 3 cars are the cheapest electric cars of the company. These cars have been turned into police vehicles.

The details are reported by Carscoops. The South Pasadena (California, USA) Police Department was the first in the country to switch to an all-electric police fleet, replacing older vehicles.

To do this, the local police received funding of $1.3 million dollars. These are funds to replace the old fleet with new electric vehicles. Each Tesla is expected to save about $4,000 per year.

Meanwhile, the new Tesla Model Y is in development. The design of the compact electric crossover after restyling will change: there will be new horizontal headlights of simple shape in the style of the older Model S and a different bumper with a neat air intake at the bottom. At the rear, there will be new boomerang-shaped lights.

About the new design of Tesla Model Y talks are going on more and more often, but officially the manufacturer has not confirmed anything. Although pre-production prototypes have already been seen on the roads.
