Luxury cars are about luxury, design, and premium technology. Luxury models offer superior performance, reliability, and unrivaled comfort. There is a huge choice on the market today, and it all depends on whether you are looking for sports cars, premium sedans, or luxury SUVs.

For many owners, these cars are primarily a status symbol. Some of them are equipped with high-powered diesel or V8 engines or even electric and hybrid engines. Experts have released a rating of the best premium cars.

BMW 7 Series and BMW i7

If you need proof of how serious BMW is about making a bet on luxury, then consider the fact that the i7 (and its 7 Series sibling with an internal combustion engine) will only be available in an attractive long-wheelbase version. The interior combines all the latest technology with traditional craftsmanship and a rich selection of natural materials, including amazing cashmere wool that can be chosen for the seats. The car has a 31.3-inch BMW screen for rear seat passengers. There is also a conventional widescreen display in front of the driver. Using a twin engine and a 102 kWh battery, the i7 has a power output of 536 hp, a claimed range of 590 km, and an acceleration of 100 km per hour in 4.7 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

In an era of increasingly ridiculous grandiose grilles, the relatively refined design of the S-Class offers elegant luxury. It is worth paying attention to the Mercedes EQS, which is a completely new take on the luxury electric car. The lineup tends to vary depending on availability, but you can usually choose between the S350d or S400d diesel or the S500 gasoline, which also gets a mild hybrid. The diesels are pleasantly frugal and smooth. The S400d has the best performance, and the S500 offers an even faster (and still suitably quiet and smooth) option with 400 hp. There is also a gasoline-electric S580e with a total output of 503 hp.

BMW iX

There is an entry-level version of the BMW iX xDrive40, which has 296 hp and 400 km of range on a WLTP-certified electric drive. But it's better to go for the xDrive50 with its wider air suspension and 600 km of range. The BMW iX xDriveM60 offers even more power and performance. The BMW iX outperformed the Mercedes-Benz EQS in the comparison test. The Mercedes is comfortable, but the iX's isolation and ride refinement are very special indeed and make it a worthy competitor in the luxury class.

Range Rover

The Range Rover has Land Rovers MLA-Flex architecture, which is 80% aluminum for lightness and strength. Combined with precision-honed air suspension, 48V active anti-roll bars, and four-wheel steering, this Range Rover delivers with guaranteed precision and amazing agility. The manufacturer has recently added inline six-cylinder diesel engines. The Range Rover P440e and Range Rover P510e hybrid models offer up to 112 km of electric-only range.

Mercedes-Benz EQS

EQS is a true engineering achievement. With a drag coefficient of 0.20, it makes good use of the lack of air vents, and in combination with a massive 120 kWh battery, it can achieve a real-world range of around 643 km in the form of the Mercedes EQS 450+. However, some of the materials in the interior do not meet the standards you expect from a premium car.

Audi A8 and Audi S8

Audi has added new technologies to its flagship limousine. While all A8s have adaptive air suspension, the sportier V8-powered S8 is equipped with the so-called Audi Predictive Active Suspension, which combines front cameras with an adjustable-height air suspension that includes electromechanical actuators on each wheel. There is a choice of turbocharged engines – a 282 hp diesel or 335 hp gasoline engine - with all-wheel drive as standard and a 48 V electrical system that gives it mild hybrid capabilities. The top of the lineup includes the six-cylinder gasoline Audi A8 60 TFSIe.

Range Rover Sport

The Range Rover Sport is similar in many ways to its full-size brother, not least its outstanding mechanical refinement and luxury. What makes the Sport stand out is its ability to control its considerable weight, hone the precision of its reactions, and add comfort to the driving experience.

BMW X7

The X7 is a seven-seat, two-body passenger car with an extended roofline. On the road, the X7 handles well for its size and volume, feeling surprisingly precise and sporty in corners. New for the restyling is a pair of inline six-cylinder engines with a mild hybrid and a diesel engine. The BMW X7 xDrive40i has 375 hp. For those who want maximum fuel efficiency, there is the M60i, equipped with a new 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 523 hp.

Audi Q8

The range of engines is wide. You can get a six-cylinder gasoline or diesel engine, and there is a plug-in hybrid on the way. There are also performance models Audi SQ8 and RS Q8.
