Tastier than cutlets: how to cook juicy meatballs with bulgur in the oven
Meatballs and bulgur are a great alternative to traditional cutlets that will delight you with their juiciness and ease of preparation. Thanks to the addition of bulgur, the dish becomes more tender and rich in flavor, and baking in the oven allows you to preserve its health benefits and aroma.
The idea of cooking juicy meatballs with bulgur for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Oksana Dorosh (oksana dorosh rezeptu). This dish goes well with any side dish or fresh vegetables.
Ingredients:
- any minced meat - 700 g
- onion - 1 pc.
- carrots - 1 pc. optional)
- raw bulgur - 1 incomplete glass (it needs to be cooked separately)
- salt and pepper
Ingredients for the filling:
- water - 1-1.2 liters.
- flour - 2 tbsp.
- tomato paste, sauce or ketchup - 1 tbsp
- sour cream or mayonnaise - 2 tbsp
- salt, pepper, spices
Method of preparation:
1. Add grated onion, boiled bulgur, salt, pepper to the minced meat and mix well.
2. Form meatballs with wet hands.
3. Dredge in flour and place in a baking dish.
4. Mix the ingredients for the filling well and pour over the meatballs.
5. Put in a preheated oven at 175-180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.
6. Serve with any side dish or vegetable salad.
