Ukraine's top-ranked player Elina Svitolina continued her winning performance at the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open 2024. Our compatriot easily overcame the second round of the competition, defeating Bulgaria's Viktoriya Tomova.

It took Svitolina 65 minutes and two games to win, with scores of 6-1, 6-3. During this time, the Odesa native made one service ace, won 25 active games and converted six out of seven breakpoints. Our compatriot had one double fault and 18 unforced errors.

Elina's rival in the battle to reach the 1/8 finals will be the winner of the pair Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic)-Viktorija Golubic (Switzerland).
