Supercomputer named the winner of Euro 2024 before the start of the playoffs

The Spanish and English national teams are considered the main favorites to win the gold medals at the European Football Championship in Germany. Both teams won their groups, and Furia Roja did so without conceding a single goal, becoming the only team to do so among all participants.

The calculations were made by Opta's supercomputer, according to the official website. The machine processed 10,000 simulations of different outcomes and determined that the chances of the Spanish national team to win the trophy are 17.60%. This is 0.14 more than the English.

The third on the list are the tournament hosts, whose probability of triumph is estimated at 16.60%. They are followed by the French, who became European champions in 12.99% of simulations.

The chances of Portugal, the Netherlands, and Italy are estimated at 8.39%, 7.62%, and 5.23%, respectively. The least likely to win is the final victory of the championship debutant Georgia (0.27%), Slovenia (0.41%), Slovakia (0.50%) and Romania (0.73%).
