Mild earthquakes occurred in Toropets, Tver Oblast, Russia, after an attack on a large ammunition depot on the night of September 18. Meanwhile, Russians were enraged by the lies of officials, including the statement by local authorities about "falling debris" and air defense.

Monitoring services, such as Volcano Discovery, recorded earthquake vibrations near the city of Toropets. The largest magnitude was 2.8. The portal map also shows 12 more points (magnitude from 2.0 to 2.7) near the BC warehouse of the occupation forces.

A series of earthquakes began around 4:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday night.

Detonations continued as of the morning of September 18. Authorities announced evacuations; kindergartens and schools were closed in the Zapadnodvinsky municipal district of Tver Oblast.

At the same time, NASA's orbiting fire monitoring system FIRMS detected a large-scale fire. Satellite data confirms that the fire grew stronger during the morning. The distribution of heat signatures on the maps became much denser.

The governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, issued a ridiculous statement that Russian air defense was actively repelling the attack. And in Toropets, he said, a fire broke out as a result of the fall of the UAV wreckage.

"Partial evacuation of the population is underway at the site where the air defense is operating. Work is underway to localize the fire. Necessary measures are being taken," the official tried to reassure citizens.

In the comments section of one of the popular propaganda Telegram channels, the governor's comment angered readers. They asked why their authorities were lying about the "wreckage" and not telling the truth about the arrival.

"More debris and pops". "They beat off the wreckage, which is burning so that evacuation is needed, s**t, what kind of dol***** is making this up? Is there no one smarter there?" "We need to create anti-debris troops," "Even from space you can see how the debris fell," residents of the aggressor country write online.

Many recalled that in 2018, Dmitry Bulgakov, the now-arrested Russian Deputy Defense Minister , praised the missile arsenal in Toropets in 2018. "It provides reliable and safe storage, protects against air and missile strikes and even against the damaging factors of a nuclear explosion," the official claimed.

By the way, in one of the local publics, the user Andrey Vladimirovich was surprised on the third year of the full-scale war against Ukraine: "Why? We were just living, and now we are homeless."
