Spanish churros cookies: how to make them at home from available products

Churros are traditional Spanish pastries in the form of long, thin sticks, usually served with hot chocolate or coffee. It is also a classic of the cuisine of this country, which became a part of our diet many years ago.

Chef Lisa Glinska shared her simple recipe for making churros at home on Instagram. She warns about a significant drawback of this dessert: once you try just one piece, it will be extremely difficult to stop.

Ingredients for churos

  • Flour - 100 gr
  • Eggs - 3 pcs
  • Oil - 40 ml
  • Butter - 30 gr
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Sugar - 10 g
  • Salt - 1 g

Ingredients for chocolate sauce

  • Cream - 70 ml
  • Chocolate - 70 g

The method of preparation

1. Mix water, butter and oil, salt, sugar, bring to a boil.

2. Reduce heat, add flour. The dough should form a lump. Transfer it to a bowl.

3. Mix the eggs separately. Add them in a thin stream to the dough and knead quickly with a mixer or manually with a spatula.

4. Transfer to a pastry bag with a star nozzle (8 or 10 mm).

5. Heat the oil.

6. Squeeze the dough into the heated oil in the form of sticks, fry until golden brown.

7. Prepare the sauce. Mix the cream with the chocolate. Heat until smooth.

8. Sprinkle the churros with cinnamon sugar. Or serve with the sauce.
