Shakhtar leader critizises former team coach ahead of match against Barcelona

Oleksandr ChekanovNews
Sudakov criticized van Leeuwen

Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov has been quite categorical about the capabilities of the team's former coach Patrick van Leeuwen. The 21-year-old footballer noted that the Orange and Blacks players have not understood the coach's ideas during the three and a half months of working with the Dutch specialist.

Sudakov said this at a press conference before the match against Barcelona in the Champions League, Shakhtar's official website reports. One of the team leaders was delighted with the first communication with the new coach Marino Pušić, noting his ability to communicate with his players.

"Emotions are positive. Everyone was impressed after the theory. First of all, he is a good, positive person. We supported the idea that he gave us in 15 minutes. We immediately understood his style of football. And I can say that we understood more in 15 minutes than in three months of training before that. I hope we have a very good path ahead of us, and we all believe in it. There will be full confidence in the coach from our side, the players. And I hope that we will achieve great success with this coach," Sudakov said.

It should be noted that the game between the Ukrainians and the Spaniards in the third round of the Champions League will take place on Wednesday, October 25. OBOZ.UA will provide an online broadcast of the Barcelona vs Shakhtar match. The match starts at 19:45 Kyiv time.
