Mystical Ukraine

Shrouded in legends and mysteries, locations have always attracted the attention of travelers. And it's not surprising! After all, such places help to go beyond the ordinary, to experience something new and unknown. They also evoke awe, admiration, and, of course, fear. So, what attractions will definitely intrigue you - we tell you below.

Gromovyshche Glade

It is located near the village of Kupyshche, Zhytomyr region. It is popularly called the "nest of lightning". This is because it attracts electric arrows like a magnet. It is said that in the past, temples were built here, where sacrifices were made and gods were worshipped.

By the way, the locals avoid this place, and those who visit it complain of feeling unwell.

By the way, in the 1990s, during archaeological excavations, various coins were found here.

Uzhhorod Castle

It is located in the Zakarpattia region. It used to be a settlement of white Croats. Later, a wooden fort with the residence of Prince Laborets was built here. During its existence, the building was repeatedly besieged, restored, and rebuilt.

There is a legend about the ghost of a girl in a white dress who wanders the castle corridors every night. This is the daughter of the former owner, Count Druget. She once fell in love with a young man from the Polish army and revealed to him classified information about the secret passages of the palace. When her father found out about it, he ordered to bury his own blood in the walls of the fortress.

Be sure to visit the local history museum, which is located on the territory of the historical center. There are authentic exhibits here. In particular, household items, coin collections, old prints and weapons of the Middle Ages and modern times.

Pidhirtsi Castle

Located in the village of Pidhirtsi, Lviv region. It was built in the Renaissance and Baroque styles in 1635-1640. The third floor was added in 1720. It housed valuable paintings, books, and furniture. The entire collection was assembled by one of the owners, Wacław Żewuski.

By the way, the Italian park impressed visitors the most. There was a terrace with a fountain, a parterre with a floral pattern, marble sculptures, and a wood engraving depicting a garden landmark.

The attraction has also repeatedly become a movie set for various films. In particular, The Three Musketeers, Bohdan Khmelnytsky, and The Flood.

According to legend, one of the owners of the palace buried his wife alive in the walls of the building. It is said that since then the White Lady has been walking the corridors.

During the next reconstruction, the researchers conducted a photo shoot of the complex. In some of the photos, they found a transparent silhouette of a person. Later, the American research group Ghostbusters came here and confirmed that the legends about this castle have a real basis.

Lake of Ghosts

Located in the village of Khropotova, Khmelnytskyi region. The body of water is famous for its unusual ability to stay frozen even in the most severe frosts.

Local residents associate this feature with various legends and beliefs. Some say that a gentleman and his horses once drowned here, while others claim that this place is a portal to the other world. That is why the lake is often called Vynnyna, hinting at a window to an unknown dimension.

Mavrinsky Square

Located in the village of Mezhyrich, Dnipro region. Researchers suggest that the natural center has existed for more than 8,000 years. An interesting fact: from above, the drawing resembles a spider.

There are several versions of the origin of this attraction: a Cossack defense structure, the result of archaeological excavations, the remains of an altar, or a calendar and observation complex. Travelers often note its unusual energy. Trees do not grow here, and water does not linger during precipitation.

Bald Mountain

It is located in the Kyiv region. The village of Husyntsi used to exist here, which was flooded when the Kaniv Reservoir was created. The peak was considered the highest point of the village.

There are rumors that the place has magical properties and can grant wishes. According to folk legends, ancient Slavic rituals were performed here. It is also said that the sandy island is even healing.

We also recommend visiting the surviving Transfiguration Church, which is located nearby. It was built in the early nineteenth century.
