Sauerkraut salad for five kilograms of cabbage: can be stored in the refrigerator for several months
Sauerkraut is a win-win snack for the cold weather when you want something sour and pickled. You can make a complete salad from a variety of vegetables. This preparation is perfectly stored in the refrigerator for several months.
The idea of making a sauerkraut autumn salad was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Mariia Makarchuk (makarchuk food). It's a great idea to ferment 5 kilograms of cabbage at once.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 5 kg
- carrots – 1 kg
- pepper – 1 kg (peeled)
- onion – 500 g
- salt – 3 tbsp with a slide
- sugar – 250 g
- vinegar 9% – 150 ml
- vegetable oil – 350 ml
- peppercorns – on the bottom of the jar
Method of preparation:
1. Chop the cabbage.
2. Put it in a large container.
3. Add grated carrots to the same place.
4. Add the sliced bell pepper.
5. Add the onion, sliced in half rings.
6. Add salt and sugar.
7. Pour in the vinegar and oil.
8. Mix everything well.
9. Fill the jars tightly with salad.
10. Put the peppercorns in the jars.
11. This cabbage can be stored in the refrigerator for several months.
