Salt mackerel is a great addition to mashed potatoes and can also be eaten simply with bread. And the best part is that it's very easy to cook this rich, spicy fish at home. All you need is garlic and some spices.
The idea of making homemade salt mackerel with garlic was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna Movchan. The fish can be eaten within 20 minutes after cooking.

Ingredients:
- medium mackerel - 1 pc
- garlic - 4 cloves
- salt - 1.5 tsp
- sugar - 0.5 tsp
- ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp
Method of preparation:
Remove the bones.

1. Wash the mackerel well, cut off the head and fins, and remove the backbone and all the bones. It is important not to cut through the back because without the intact skin you will not be able to spin the fish beautifully.
Sprinkle with spices.

2. Mix salt, sugar, and pepper.
3. Generously sprinkle the fish fillets with this mixture.
Top with garlic.

4. Then put the garlic, cut into thin slices, on top.
Wrap in cling film.

5. Roll the mackerel up and wrap in cling film tightly.
Put in the fridge.

6. Put in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours, and then transfer to the freezer for at least a day.

7. Before cutting and serving, take the fish out of the freezer and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Then you can cut it easily.
