A satellite image has appeared online showing the process of equipping and preparing the Russian intercontinental ballistic missile R-30 Bulava. It is one of the elements of the Russian nuclear triad and is deployed on Project 955 Borey nuclear submarines.

According to the Ukrainian military portal Defence Express, Russian resources were the first to draw attention to the image. They claim that the image shows the work of the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, which is responsible for the maintenance of nuclear weapons.

Until now, satellite images showing preparatory work on Russian missiles that could be nuclear weapons have not been released to the public.

The time and place of the events in the image are not known for certain. Probably, the transport and launch container with the R-30 Bulava (gray) is located in the lower left corner of the image, and several vehicles for various purposes can also be seen.

"It is quite telling that the Russians themselves are not even trying to disguise themselves in any way, that is, they are even demonstratively preparing an ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile - Ed.), which is likely to be loaded onto one of the Project 955 nuclear submarines," the article says.

This shows that Western countries are able to constantly monitor the processes related to the Russian nuclear arsenal using satellites. The Russians are demonstratively conducting such operations, apparently for the purpose of psychological influence.

"Here we were talking about strategic nuclear weapons, but it is quite logical to assume that similar work at the airfields of the Russian strategic aviation is also taking place under the close supervision of Western satellites," Defence Express added.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, earlier Russian dictator Vladimir Putin conducted a training of the strategic nuclear deterrent forces. During the exercise, three types of missiles were launched - the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile, as well as the Sineva and Bulava ballistic missiles.
