Russia national team banned from participating in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification - local media

Oleksandr ChekanovNews
Russians will miss the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

The Russia national football team will not be allowed to participate in the draw for the 2026 World Cup qualifying round, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Representatives of the aggressor country will not play in the qualifiers and, accordingly, will not appear in North America for the big competition.

This was reported by the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The European Football Union (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) maintain their sanctions against the aggressor country, refusing to hold matches with the participation of Russians for security reasons.

"The Russia national team will not be albe to participate in the World Cup qualifying draw. The team was banned due to security issues, and UEFA and FIFA have not changed their minds since the suspension. The team will not be able to qualify for the World Cup. Even if the national team will not play in the draw, there is still a minimal chance of the team being included in the qualifying group before the start of qualifying. But we should not count on such a miracle," said Match TV.

It should be noted that the draw for the European qualifiers will take place on December 7.
