Russia hits adjacent territory of Khmelnytskyi NPP: Ukrainians left without electricity in two cities

On the night of October 25, Russia attacked the area near the Khmelnytskyi NPP. As a result, 1,860 consumers in Slavuta and Netishyn (Khmelnytskyi region) were cut off from electricity.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. "The explosion damaged windows in the administrative and laboratory buildings... Restoration work will begin as soon as power engineers are allowed to the site of the damage," the statement said.

In addition, another 6.6 thousand consumers in the Khmelnytskyi region were left without electricity due to bad weather. 11.1 thousand consumers had power outages in the Lviv region.

Electricity was cut off in the Kropyvnytskyi region yesterday due to technological disruptions. Blackouts were also reported in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

"Due to the hostilities and other reasons, 411 settlements are without electricity. Due to shelling, there are damages in the networks of regional power companies in Donetsk, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions," Ukrenergo said.

Thus, Russia resumes attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Earlier, it became known that on the evening of October 22, Russia struck one of the thermal power plants in eastern Ukraine. The equipment at the plant was seriously damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The TPP resumed operations the day after the shelling.

Nevertheless, according to Ukrenergo, consumption limits were not re-imposed on October 25. "If you do not have electricity, look for the reasons on your account or the website of your regional power company," the power company advised.

However, the situation depends on how strong and successful Russian attacks on our infrastructure will be.
