Russia complains of massive drone attack: explosions heard in many regions, a large-scale fire reported in Nizhny Novgorod. Photo and video
On the night of June 30, loud explosions occurred in the Bryansk and Belgorod regions of Russia allegedly because of "36 AFU drones." At the same time, a massive fire broke out in Nizhny Novgorod in a warehouse with paint and varnish materials.
The smoke from the fire was visible for many kilometers, and Russians complained that their country was experiencing a "fire show." They posted videos on Telegram channels of a large-scale fire that local rescuers were unable to localize for a long time.
For example, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that Russian air defense had shot down four drones over the Trubchevsky district that night. According to him, "there were no casualties or damage."
The head of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, also assured Russians of the elimination of drones. At the same time, he also claimed that a drone strike had caused damage in Gaivoron: two of them allegedly attacked an apartment building, where windows were smashed in two apartments and a car was damaged by debris.
Locals wrote about loud explosions in Cheremisinovsky, Shchigrovsky, Timsky, Solntsevsky and Pristensky districts, and said that "the lights went out" in the northwest of the region. A hit was also reported in the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
At this time, Russians wrote that a powerful fire broke out in Nizhny Novgorod at night, where explosions were heard. According to some reports, warehouses on the territory of a waste disposal site on the Moscow highway were on fire. A huge column of thick black smoke could be seen from different parts of the city for many kilometers.
Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations has assigned the fire, which is up to 1,000 square meters in size, the second rank of complexity. They have preliminarily confirmed that tanks with paint and varnish materials are burning, and there may be gas cylinders inside the premises. Local firefighters were unable to localize the fire for a long time, and no injuries were reported.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that on the night of June 30, its air defense systems destroyed "36 AFU drones". In particular, 15 UAVs were allegedly shot down over the Kursk region, nine over the Lipetsk region, four over the territories of the Voronezh and Bryansk regions, and two over the Orel and Belgorod regions. They did not comment on the large-scale fire in Nizhny Novgorod.
