Russia boasted of F-16 fighter jets defeat in Ukraine but was quickly refuted: Air Force commented on the situation

Russian propagandists boast...

To counter the news about the downing of a Russian Su-34 bomber, Russia decided to boast about the "destruction" of F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine. Thus, Russian Telegram channels began spreading a fake about the downing of several aircraft at once.

According to one version, six fighters were downed, while another claimed that five F-16 jets and a Patriot air defense system were destroyed. Yurii Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, commented on the Russians' statements during the TV marathon. He ridiculed the occupiers who managed to destroy aircraft that are not even in Ukraine yet.

Thus, Russian propagandists began to spread information that the Russian army had shot down F-16 fighter jets at the airfield in Odesa.

"There are still unconfirmed reports that 6 F-16 jets were shot down at the Odesa airfield. If it is true, and it is true, then today the f***ers will cry bitter tears because even the much-hyped F-16 did not help them," the propagandists write.

At the same time, the propagandists' versions of the downing of the planes were quite diverse. Some claim to have shot down six planes, while others mention five or four. Propagandists also say that it was an F-16 fighter jet that shot down a Russian Su-34, and then a Su-30 "took revenge" and destroyed four F-16.

But this is not all the occupiers' "victories". The propagandists also claimed that they had successfully destroyed a Patriot air defense system in the port area with the help of a Shahed drone. In addition, according to them, five F-16 were eliminated at the Shkilnyi airfield.

The occupiers are also spreading a photo of an F-16 aircraft "defeat" in Odesa, allegedly provided by their people in the Armed Forces. The fact that green leaves are visible in the background of the plane in December does not bother the propagandists at all. This is the 2018 photo from Western media.

Yurii Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, responded to the latest Russian fakes.

"Well, there are memes about F-16jets that the occupiers found them in Ukraine. I get such questions from my colleagues every day. "Well, off the record, tell me, are they here (in Ukraine - Ed.)?" People want to believe that they are in Ukraine. Well, the enemy believed it, and the enemy is "destroying" them," the spokesman said.

Ihnat also said explaines when the F-16 jets will arrive in Ukraine.

"We are ready, our Western partners have confirmed that we are ready. We are in the process. In addition to pilots, we need infrastructure and engineers. We have discussed this many times. That's why our partners have stated that they are ready to hand it over. This is the statement we have made so far," he added.
