Air defense forces shoot down Russian ballistic missiles

Ukraine'sAir Defense Forces successfully repelled a Russian missile attack on Kyiv on the morning of December 11. All eight airborne targets flying along the ballistic trajectory were destroyed.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The falling missile fragments caused damage and injuries.

According to preliminary information, the Russian occupiers launched a missile attack on the Kyiv region around 04:00 on Monday, December 11.

"Air defense destroyed eight air targets flying in the direction of the capital on a ballistic trajectory," the military said.

As a reminder, a series of explosions were heard in Kyiv around 04:15 on Monday, and a few minutes later an air alert was declared in the capital and Kyiv region. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a missile threat only for this region.

As a result of the air defense, missile fragments fell in the Darnytsky district of the capital, smashing windows in a residential building, starting a fire in an unfinished building, and causing no fire or damage to the lawn and territory of a warehouse store.

It is known that four adult residents of Bornychi in the Darnytsky district were injured: a man born in 1992 suffered shrapnel wounds to his lower extremities, and three women (born in 1963, 1990 and 1992) suffered an acute stress reaction. They were given first aid on the spot.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, during a large-scale missile attack on Kyiv on December 8, Russian troops launched decoy missiles in an attempt to deplete the Ukrainian air defense system. However, the invaders failed to achieve this goal: Russia has too few strategic bombers for this purpose.
