Robot children with microcircuits, bare breasts and marshmallow dresses: Andre Tan named the most striking looks at Paris Haute Couture Week

Haute couture week in Paris

The famous Ukrainian designer Andre Tan closely followed the Haute Couture Week in Paris, evaluating the collections of prominent foreign colleagues with his professional eye. According to the Ukrainian fashion designer, Haute Couture is not just fashion, but art in its purest form. Collections are often dedicated to specific themes: the apocalypse, Greek gods, scientific experiments, and so on. It happened this time too. The luxury fashion houses impressed with their performances and corresponding images.

In his InstaStories, Andre Tan shared which collections impressed him the most. He gave a short commentary on each of them.

Maison Margiela

The couture created by John Galliano for Paris Fashion Week is truly a work of art, a theatrical performance on the runway. The couturier was inspired by photographer Brassai's portraits of the 1920s and 1930s, which depict nightlife in Parisian clubs and streets.

"Bare breasts and transparency, wrapped in perfectly tailored coats, corsets worn over the naked body, bandaged legs and torn tights, crazy hats and jackets with active shoulders as if in a spider's web. It feels like the old Galliano," commented Andre Tan.

Chanel

"Perhaps the most flirtatious and delicate couture that Virginie Viard has ever shown for Chanel. Beautiful marshmallow dresses, baby dolls, pastel shades, candy tweed, tulle, ruffles and flounces - young divas, whom the brand has been working for recently, will definitely appreciate it," the Ukrainian fashion designer expressed his opinion.

Victor&Rolf

A sharp transition from marshmallow dresses in white, pink and peach tones by Chanel to "torn" black silhouettes by Victor & Rolf.

These styles came as an unexpected surprise to high fashion connoisseurs and the brand's fans. The translucent fabric in tandem with dense black textures cannot help but fall in love with it.

SCHIAPARELLI

If anyone can make you open your mouth in surprise and delight, it is SCHIAPARELLI. This time, the creative director of the fashion house Daniel Roseberry impressed with a dress encrusted with viral gadgets and a robot "baby". All this became a time capsule from the past and a message to the future.

"Can high fashion and modern technology coexist in one collection? Daniel Roseberry 100% thinks so!" commented Andre Tan.

Fendi

"A fantastic brilliance that seems to me to be viewed from outer space," Andre Tan described the Fendi collection very aptly.

Shimmering dresses, sophisticated silhouettes, tenderness combined with glamorous audacity - all this could be seen on the runway in Paris, thanks to creative director Kim Jones. He used the futuristic approaches of the iconic Karl Lagerfeld, who previously headed the brand, as a source of inspiration for the new collection.

Jean Paul

"Jean Paul Gaultier's collection was feminine, sensual, yet very sexy and provocative," said Andre Tan, and it's impossible not to agree with him.
