In Ukraine, 2 thousand families are left without electricity due to Russian shelling

In Ukraine, 2,000 families in the Odesa region are without electricity due to Russian shelling. The situation has also been aggravated by unfavorable weather conditions.

Power engineers of the state energy company are already working to restore power supply, the company's press service reports. The damage was minor and resulted in power outages for only a few thousand Ukrainians. The consequences of such shelling are often quickly eliminated.

When will outage schedules be introduced?

At the same time, Ukrainians have already been warned that the winter of 2023-2024 could be the most difficult since the country's independence. After all, if Russia resumes large-scale shelling of the energy infrastructure, massive power outages will not be avoided.

"We are preparing for the worst winter in history. So we will turn a blind eye if we don't get Taurus [long-range missiles - Ed. We are trying to protect our power plants as best we can. But the Russians are learning. They will once again test our endurance with their missiles," admitted Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

For their part, the Ministry of Energy noted that without Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, they will not introduce blackout schedules. That is, even with all the difficulties, Ukrainians will not be left without electricity.

And difficulties with power generation may arise even without active attacks on energy infrastructure facilities by the Russian Federation. The fact is that electricity consumption increases with colder weather, and a generation deficit may occur when the air temperature is minus 10 degrees.

However, there is a way out of this situation. In particular, during peak loads, the shortage of current can be compensated by imports.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, at the same time, Ukrenergo urged Ukrainians not to believe fake reports of hours-long blackouts "starting tomorrow." They noted that the Ukrainian power system currently has enough electricity to meet the needs of all consumers. Only Russian shelling of the energy infrastructure can change the situation.
