Oil depot burns in Russian Perm region

On October 4, a massive fire broke out at a private oil storage facility in the Russian village of Osentsy, Perm Krai. The fire spread over a large area and took a long time to extinguish.

Local services are considering two versions of the cause of the incident, completely rejecting the possibility of a drone attack. They also said that no one was injured in the incident.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the fire engulfed the fuel tanks of the tank farm located in the industrial zone of the town.

The area of the fire reached 10 thousand square meters. More than 60 firefighters and 19 pieces of equipment tried to extinguish it.

According to the Ministry, the fire, which broke out suddenly, "was localized without injuries."

They also claim to have prevented the fire from spreading to the administrative building of the oil depot, private houses and dry vegetation.

In the morning, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the fire at the oil depot in the Perm region has been extinguished. They denied the version of a UAV attack on the facility, saying that there are two possible causes: careless handling of sudden fire or an electrical equipment failure.

As reported, on October 4, a powerful fire also broke out at an oil depot in the Russian Voronezh region. Before that, Russians complained about explosions and an alleged UAV attack.
